How to get here

Depending on what time of day you arrive, an overnight stay in Dar es salaam is usually necessary.

The journey from Dar es salaam to Kilwa is arranged by Kilwa dreams, and we will also arrange for you to be met by our staff at the airport in Dar es salaam.

Go by bus, car or plane from the airport to Kilwa Dreams
By plane: There are daily schedule flights from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar to Kilwa Masoko and return.
Charter flights can be arranged as well at the Charter Airline Offices, although at much higher prices.

By Car: Kilwa Dreams can arrange for you to have a car pick you up at the airport and take you to Kilwa Dreams, which is a 6 hours drive.

By Bus: Daily buses from Dar es Salaam Temeke to Kilwa Masoko are available. The bus station in Kilwa Masoko is within walking distance of Kilwa Dreams.
By Boat/ Ship: The Kilwa Masoko Bay opposite the Kilwa Dreams has a safe anchor ground, as well as the Kilwa Masoko harbour area.

The best travel currency here is USD cash.
It is a good idea to ask your doctor about vaccinations and to bring malaria tablets with you, as Tanzania is a malaria-zone.
